The Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG) recently completed a year-long process to develop a comprehensive County-wide Economic Development Strategic Plan. The plan was presented to the public on Wednesday via video conference.
CONNECTGEN PLANS FOR MAJOR SOLAR PROJECT
ConnectGen has submitted a PILOT application to the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) for their South Ripley Solar Project, a 270 megawatt (MW) large scale-solar project located in South Ripley, wholly within the town boundaries. The Project will include a 20 MW of battery energy storage component.
ECR Investing in Dunkirk and Utica Facilities
Mark Geise, Chautauqua County’s Deputy County Executive for Economic Development and CEO of the CCIDA said, “For over 90 years, ECR has been an industry leader in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market. We are pleased that we could support their ongoing local investment and growth, which will result in the retention of a significant number of jobs and an even stronger foothold in Chautauqua County.”
STANNARD GROUP, LLC HEADQUARTER’S BUILDING COMPLETED IN MASON INDUSTRIAL PARK
Construction of Stannard Group, LLC’s (Stannard) headquarters in the Mason Industrial Park, located in the Town of Ellicott, is complete. In May of 2019, the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) approved a 15-year payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) incentive for the new construction project, which will keep Stannard in Chautauqua County, retain 35 employees, and create 1 new job. The approval of funding for Stannard, who distributes foundry and turf consumable products, supported the building of a new warehouse and office facility in Mason Industrial Park.

PORTLAND SOLAR PROJECT EXPECTED TO COMMENCE IN 2020
Abundant Solar Power, Inc. (Abundant) is one step closer to constructing a 2.5 Megawatt Alternating Current (AC) solar array project in Portland following approval of incentives by the Board of Directors of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) at its meeting today. The project will generate renewable solar energy for the Town of Portland and the surrounding communities within the New York Independent System Operator (NYSIO) Zone A District.
NYS GUIDELINES FOR BUSINESS REOPENINGS
On May 18th, New York State issued detailed guidelines for the reopening of Phase 1 businesses, which are required to be adhered to prior to reopening during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. The state’s guidance, which can be found at https://forward.ny.gov/, includes: Summary Guidelines for employers and employees; Detailed Guidelines, which contain a Business Affirmation component; and a Business Safety Template, which must be completed and posted at the premises.

Chautauqua County Officials Announce Phase 1 Reopening Plans
“Businesses must go to the NY Forward Website and electronically sign the detailed guidance documents, after they’ve read them for their business type, before they can reopen,” said Mark Geise, Deputy County Executive and CEO of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA). “They also need to complete the business guidance template, print it out, and keep it close at hand at their business location in case of an inspection by the NYS Department of Health, or local health or safety authorities.”
CCIDA EMERGENCY LOAN FUND PROVES A HUGE SUCCESS
The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) was successful in expeditiously establishing and implementing an emergency working capital loan program to benefit Chautauqua County businesses that have been negatively impacted by the Coronavirus. The CCIDA quickly obtained approval from the US Economic Development Administration to implement the program, and $250,000 was allocated to the fund a little over a month ago.
