October 4, 2017
ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – October 2, 2017, marks the end of the Web.com Tour Finals. Five-time PGA TOUR winner Jonathan Byrd is heading back to the PGA TOUR after winning the Web.com Tour Championship for his first Web.com Tour victory in over 16 years. Byrd is the second former PGA TOUR winner to win in the last three starts on the Web.com Tour, joining Chesson Hadley, who posted two Web.com Tour victories this season.
HADLEY EARNS FULL STATUS
Hadley, who won the LECOM Health Challenge during the Regular Season and the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft Nabisco in the Web.com Tour Finals, heads back to the PGA TOUR. The 30-year-old captured his lone PGA TOUR victory at the 2014 Puerto Rico Open and captured PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year honors that year.
The 2017 LECOM Health Challenge Champion won both the Regular Season and Finals combined money list and the Finals money list to secure fully-exempt status on TOUR next season. (See the entire Money List Here.) With his two Web.com Tour victories in 2017, Chesson Hadley earned a return trip to the PGA TOUR – with full status – after earning more than $562,000 on the combined Regular Season and Finals money list.
The Atlantic Beach Country Club event is the fourth and final tournament in the Web.com Tour Finals, a series of four events that will conclude this week. Twenty-five PGA TOUR cards were awarded last month following the WinCo Foods Portland Open presented by Kraft Heinz. An additional 25 cards will be issued to the top 25 players on the Finals-only money list on Sunday night, with positioning for all 50 cards set at that time as well.
