JAMESTOWN – Johnson Machine & Fibre Products Company Inc., a custom machining facility in Jamestown, provides high-quality machined parts to customers worldwide. The company has been in business for over 60 years and Michael Marshall became the sole owner in 2007.
Johnson Machine & Fibre Products is presently in a growth mode, which is expected to continue due to recent HubZone Certification. Marshall and his employees worked on this certification process for one year, and the results are already evident. The company has recently received eight government contracts, and certification by military contractors. This new certification gives Johnson Machine an advantage to be awarded contracts now and in the future.
“The Chautauqua County IDA was instrumental in this process with providing funding to help Johnson Machine achieve this goal,” said Marshall.
Currently, they run 24 hours a day five days a week, and have machines that are booked for the year as they satisfy Aerospace Contracts. Johnson Machine manufactures a wide variety of small to large custom machined parts on modern, state-of-the-art equipment. Extensive quality assurance measures, including statistical process control are always in place.
“I am truly impressed by the success that Johnson Machine has achieved by working through a lengthy certification process,” said Vince Horrigan, Chautauqua County executive. “Small business is the heart of our community and I congratulate Michael and his team for their business expansion and job creation.”
An AL Tech Revolving Loan was awarded to the company by County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors to secure the retention of employees, and promote the opportunity for new-hire. This assistance will also make available required training for new hires.
“Congratulations to Michael and his staff for their diligent pursuit in obtaining HubZone Certification, which will only enhance growth and employment for their company,” said Carol Rasmussen, CCIDA project manager.
